Al Bir & Social Welfare association

The association was founded in 1911 by a scholar named Saeed Al Nassan it  was dealing with kinder gartens & general life .

The bylaw was amended and the name of the association was changed to Al Bir & Social Welfare association by the decision of the ministry  of social welfare No. 90 on jan – 17 -2001

Goals

Raising the youth on the good morals, and supporting them financially and morally .

1- Opening medical clinics and centers for the poor and indigent people .

2- Establishing social service projects of any kind .

3-Helping the needy and the indigent. And raising money for this purpose and directing the community to help and support the association.

Executive Committee

The association is directed by a committee of eleven trusted members who believe in the team work. All of them are highly intellectual and carrying degrees in medical ,pharmaceutical, and economical sciences .along with many established charity expertise of the chamber of commerce of  Hama.

The association has very good support by the people of Hama along with governmental support

Al afia fund

Founded on 21 / 10 / 2001, engaged itself to help the poor with major  illnesses  such as cardiac or renal , it help them for cardiac cath., bypass surgery, and angioplasty. Renal dialysis, and transplantation . Chemotherapy for cancer. Along with corneal transplantation and major opthalmic emergencies.

Kinder gartens

The association participates in the education of the youth through its gardens. And the association in process of establishing a new kindergarten , which will bring the best of the new methods of teaching according to the modern standards .

Future projects

Advanced medical care center

      It is a multi-centers facility with potential independence of each center

1- Radiation therapy unit with a linear accelerator.

2- Kidney center : dialysis, and kidney transplantation

3- main bldg. : administration, basic studies, ( radiology, main lab.), nurses bldg. Physicians bldg.

4- Cancer center for adult

5- Cancer center for children. especially lymphomas and leukemia.

6- Rehabilitation center : physical therapy , cardiac and neurological rehab.

Project goals

1-Establishing state of the art medical centers for chronic diseases in order to spread the idea in syria and around it.

2-Helping the poor people affected with chronic and catastrophic illnesses.

3-Bridging and improving the communication with the syrian and international physicians in order to have their educational, medical, and  financial  support .

The elements of the project

The ground :

it was donated by the council of the city of Hama (10000 m2) in the north side  of the  city

The resources are:

Donation by the people inside syria

Donation by the syrian and arabic expatriates abroad

Some donors  pledged to build complete unit in his name .

We received a linear accelerator (VARIAN 1800)and 17 dialysis unites (BAXTER - FRESENUS) .

in process of negotiation with LIFE (( NGO with UN )) to participate with the  project

The cancer center for the children :

The beginning of the negotiation  with ST.  JUDE  hospital and others to help in the project.
